Today marks the first of three lists I’ll be sharing over the next three weeks: a Christmas-themed list, my top social media posts of the year, and the books I read this year.
Sharing these lists has become an annual Teammate Tuesdays tradition—especially the Christmas-themed edition. In past years, I have shared:

This year, I’m focusing on Christmas caroling, a holiday tradition rooted in the 13th-century practice of wassailing, when people went door to door sharing well wishes.
Christmas carols are full of lyrics that capture the spirit of being a good teammate, so here are 12 good teammate reminders from classic Christmas carols:
1. “Joy to the world!”
(From “Joy to the World”)
Spread positivity. Good teammates understand the value of having a joyful attitude.
2. “Thy leaves are so unchanging, Not only green when summer’s here, But also when it’s cold and drear”
(From “O Christmas Tree”)
Be reliable. Good teammates exhibit the same level of commitment in tough times as they do when things are going smoothly.
3. “All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names”
(From “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”)
Demonstrate resiliency. Good teammates are not deterred by haters, naysayers, doubters, or other reindeer.
4. “O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant”
(From “O Come, All Ye Faithful”)
Offer encouragement. Good teammates use their talents to lift one another.
5. “Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright”
(From “Silent Night”)
Stay composed. Good teammates bring stability to even the most challenging moments by remaining calm.
6. “Field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star”
(From “We Three Kings”)
Persevere. Good teammates aren’t deterred by obstacles in their pursuit of shared team goals.
7. “O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh”
(From “Jingle Bells”)
Be adaptable. Good teammates adjust their mindset to embrace the journey, even when it’s bumpy.
8. “Deck the hall with boughs of holly”
(From “Deck the Halls”)
Create a cheerful atmosphere. Good teammates build a winning culture by promoting a jolly, welcoming environment for everyone.
9. “Jolly old Saint Nicholas, lean your ear this way”
(From “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”)
Be attentive. Good teammates stay in tune with others’ needs by being active listeners.
10. “Good tidings we bring to you and your kin”
(From “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”)
Be generous. Good teammates share good news, blessings, and goodwill with the rest of their team.
11. “He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work”
(From “A Visit from St. Nicholas”— a.k.a., “’Twas the night before Christmas”))
Show resolve. Good teammates focus on getting the job done efficiently.
12. “Frosty the snowman was alive as he could be”
(From “Frosty the Snowman”)
Be consistent. Good teammates are always A.L.I.V.E. (Active, Loyal, Invested, Viral, and Empathetic), even when they don’t feel their best.
This year’s Christmas-themed list highlights how timeless carols offer meaningful lessons on being a good teammate, from spreading joy to demonstrating resilience and staying composed. By reflecting on these 12 reminders, you can carry the spirit of teamwork and goodwill into both the holiday season and everyday life.
As always…Good teammates care. Good teammates share. Good teammates listen. Go be a good teammate—and have yourself a merry Christmas!
